LIHEAP - Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program
The Hispanic Family Center now enrolls applicants for the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program for Camden and Gloucester Counties. The Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) is a federally funded program that helps low income families and individuals with their energy bill. Assistance is provided for:
- Heating assistance
- Emergency crisis assistance
- Medically necessary cooling assistance.
LIHEAP 2012 Applications are available November through April.
To be eligible for LIHEAP benefits, the applicant household must be responsible for home heating or cooling costs, either directly or included in the rent; and have gross income at or below 225% of the federal poverty level. Visit or call one of two Hispanic Family Center offices located in Camden or Woodbury to get information about completing an application for the LIHEAP program.
